What I Do & Why
"Do or do not. There is no try." -- Yoda
We are not a physical being having a spiritual experience. We are a spiritual being having a physical experience. -- Dr. Erika Duffy.
What I do and Why:
When I was a teenager I suffered horribly with colitis for years. I was placed on medication that never worked and numerous tests. The Dr.'s. could not figure out what they could put me on that would work since nothing they prescribed ever did. I was put in the hospital for further testing with a colostomy being considered next. That's when I thought "I don't think so!" and made a conscious choice to heal myself. That was my first wake up call. When on vacation I suffered a spinal injury. I became totally crippled. I could not move and was so terrified I would never be the same again. That was my second wake up call and rather than have surgery, I started looking around for alternative ways my spine could heal. A mental illness can be just a debilitating as a physical one, if not more so. Ten years ago I suffered with depression, black outs, anxiety attacks, post trauma stress disorder, and had so much vertigo that I could not tell the ceiling from the floor. I thought I was dying and felt totally out of control. I was again put on medication and was told it would take approximately 3 months for it to work and that the medication prescribed would create more vertigo until then. I dumped the medication down the toilet and vowed to regain control of my life and to heal by finding out why these things were happening to me. This was my third wake up call. This led me to natural techniques and alternative ways to look at things which created me to heal mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We all have the power!
